A4TE
A4TE was founded in 2024 as the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) and Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund (TLDEF), two long-time champions for the trans community, merged together as one organization. A trans-led nonprofit, A4TE’s policy experts, litigators and community organizers work at all levels of government to fight for the legal and political rights of transgender people.

LGBTQ+ media advocacy organization, works to ensure fair, accurate, and inclusive representation and creates national and local programs that advance LGBTQ acceptance.

Human Rights Campaign
The nation’s largest LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, HRC works to elect pro-equality leaders and to advance equity-based policies and legislation and to promote LGBTQ+ inclusive policies and practices in schools, workplaces, hospitals, and communities.

IC4E promotes human rights and equality for all intersex people through art, education and action.

It Gets Better Project
Created in response to the suicides of teenagers who were bullied for being gay or perceived to be gay, adults share their stories through videos, conveying the message to young people that life will improve.

Matthew Shepard Foundation
Founded by Dennis and Judy Shepard in memory of their son Matthew, who was brutally attacked and left to die in 1982. By amplifying Matthew’s story, the Foundation focuses on education, outreach and advocacy to create safer communities. They support hate crime prevention training to law enforcement personnel and helped to pioneer the country’s first federal hate crimes legislation with the passing of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act in 2009.

Stand With Trans
For families and youth who are transitioning, provides support groups, access to mental health care and educational programs. Connects parents nationwide to provide mutual support. Offers corporate training to create inclusive and affirming spaces.

Trans Youth Equality Foundation
Advocates for transgender, gender non-conforming, non-binary and intersex youth ages 2–18. Offers yearly youth summer and fall camps, youth workshops, an educational podcast and training for educational and medical professionals.

Trans Youth Family Allies
TYFA partners with educators, service providers and communities to develop supportive environments in which gender may be expressed and respected. Offers resources for parents, young people, educators and healthcare professionals, many of which are available as printable PDFs.
